Living Film From the Inside: An Open, Educational Filmmaking Project
CINE WORKSHOP 2025

In the era of hyperconnectivity and on-demand content, film is also starting to explore new ways of producing and relating to its audience. One of the most innovative projects in this sense is the initiative presented by filmmaker Daniel Blanco A.M.C. — 🎬 LET’S MAKE A MOVIE… AND YOU CAN BE PART OF IT 🎬 — where viewers aren’t just invited to watch a film being made, but to get actively involved in every stage. Today it’s not enough to watch the behind-the-scenes edited at the end of a movie; the real learning and understanding of film happen when you live the process in real time, with its wins and its mistakes. That’s the premise behind this unique proposal.
It’s an unprecedented educational and creative experience: making a feature film as an open process, from script to theatrical screening, with direct access to every technical, artistic and production decision. More than a theory workshop, this program is about participants living film from the inside, as active members of the team.

A 100% Open, Participatory Production Process
From writing the script to the theatrical screening, participants will access every phase of production. It’s a living, transparent experience that shows both the wins and the mistakes that inevitably come up when making a film.
Every week there will be live classes and sessions explaining the progress and sharing real documents: breakdowns, budgets, contracts, production design, camera tests, effects and all the technical and creative material needed. These sessions will also be recorded for anyone who can’t attend live.

Methodology and Work Structure
The program is organized into weekly production meetings, which act as spaces for review, task assignment and real-time problem-solving. Added to this are key training activities:
• Script reading and analysis to work on narrative and characters.
• Technical breakdown scene by scene to identify production needs.
• Shoot planning and scheduling.
• Production design, set building and dressing.
• Casting and assembling the technical and artistic crew.
• Camera, optics, makeup, wardrobe and effects tests.
• Planning the post workflow.
• Editing, sound design, scoring and final mix.
• Delivery in DCP format and theatrical screening.
• Distribution strategy and festival participation.
Each of these stages will be presented and discussed in the sessions, providing direct access to original camera and sound files for anyone who wants to experiment in their own editing software.

Professional Training and Academic Value
The project doesn’t just offer a real immersion in the filmmaking process — it also guarantees academic value. At the end, participants will receive a diploma endorsed by the Centro de Estudios Cinematográficos INDIE A.C., backing the experience and learning gained.
For active INDIE students, participation will be free, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to the practical, professional training of new filmmakers.

A Space for Dialogue and Collective Building
One of the biggest strengths of this project is the creation of dialogue tables where participants can weigh in and be part of the creative decisions. This dynamic breaks with the top-down model of teaching and promotes collaborative work, technical-artistic debate and learning from shared experience.
Plus, everyone will have full access to the making-of as it’s being created, with the chance to ask questions live and deeply understand the processes.
Closing and Additional Benefits
When production wraps, there will be an official screening and a wrap party, where participants can bring a guest. There will also be discounts and promotions on gear and software from the companies supporting the project, expanding the professional and networking benefits.
A Unique Experience for Anyone Who Wants to Really Make Film
This program is much more than a course or workshop: it’s an opportunity to be an active part of making a professional film and learn from every one of its phases. From the conception of the idea to its big-screen premiere, participants will experience firsthand the challenges, decisions and rewards of the craft.
