DJI RS4: The Professional Stabilizer for Film and Content Creators

DJI released the RS4, its new camera stabilizer, introducing a range of improvements and accessories designed to take the shooting experience to the next level. This gimbal is compatible with all Ronin-series accessories, offering flexibility for pros after quality and efficiency in every shot.

Key features of the DJI RS4

  1. Capacity and tilt-axis extension The RS4 supports up to 6.6 lb, allowing for more stable balancing thanks to the extended tilt axis. This design improves movement and makes transitions between horizontal and vertical framing smoother.

  2. One-click vertical mode Unlike other solutions, the DJI RS4 lets you switch to vertical mode with a single click, no extra accessories needed. That’s key for content that requires native switching between horizontal and vertical formats — something clients and directors often ask for on social platforms like Instagram or TikTok.

  3. Automatic locks and universal compatibility The gimbal includes automatic locks for added safety, and it’s backward-compatible with all Ronin-line accessories as well as third-party products. That allows integration with other accessories, like mounts and additional rigs, maximizing efficiency.

  4. Long battery life and energy efficiency The RS4’s battery offers up to 29 hours of use and is 2.5x more power-efficient than previous models. The Power Delivery system also lets you charge additional accessories, like phones.

Advanced features and improved stabilization

As add-on accessories, the RS4 includes new motors that control focus, iris and zoom. Creators can assign different functions to specific controls — focus on a wheel, zoom on the joystick. That makes it easy to create complex effects, like the dolly-zoom (vertigo) effect, with intuitive handling.

The modular design includes a detachable controller you can connect by cable to the Ronin body, letting you operate it comfortably with either hand. And the tilt axis, extended by 8.5 mm, allows for better balancing.

The DJI RS4 proves to be a robust, efficient stabilizer that beats earlier models like the RS3 Pro in stability and balancing speed. The new RSA port lets you connect a wide range of DJI-ecosystem accessories, as well as third-party products.

Its design is aimed at anyone after professional options for shooting with small cameras, like the cinema line. The combination of portability, power and advanced features makes it an excellent choice for content creators who want to take their work to the next level.
