Director of Photography (DP) — independent feature CDMX
Low-budget independent feature, 18 days of shooting in CDMX and surrounding areas. Looking for a DP with their own vision, not a Roger Deakins cosplay. Sony FX9 + ZEISS Supreme rental confirmed.
We’re looking for a director of photography for an independent feature fiction film — urban drama, 18 effective shoot days across CDMX, Estado de México, and Toluca. Production with a clear schedule and a locked script.
What we expect from the DP:
- Prior work on at least one feature or several shorts with a strong tone. We don’t need commercial reels — we need a point of view.
- Willingness to be involved from scouting (3 weeks before) and look discussions with the director.
- Real leadership of the camera department and dialogue with the gaffer.
Confirmed gear:
- Sony FX9 + accessories (cage, monitor, follow focus).
- ZEISS Supreme Prime set (25, 29, 35, 50, 85 mm) — rental locked.
- 1× Aputure 600c Pro + 4× Amaran 200d as lighting base. There’s room in the budget for additional gear if you justify it.
Compensation: competitive day rate for MX independent production market (not corporate commercial). Payment through production company with invoice. Credit as Director of Photography in titles and festival materials.
